Synchrotron Ultraviolet Radiation Facility

The Synchrotron Ultraviolet Radiation Facility is operated by the Electron and Optical Physics Division of the Physics Laboratory of the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Different measurements and services are provided at SURF: These include the calibration of detectors based on an absolute cryogenic radiometer or ionization chambers in the ultraviolet and extreme-ultraviolet spectral range; the absolute calibration of ultraviolet sources, based on the calculability of synchrotron radiation; the measurement of optical properties in the ultraviolet and extreme-ultraviolet spectral ranges; and the calibration of whole spectrometer systems in the ultraviolet and extreme-ultraviolet spectral range, also based on the calculability of synchrotron radiation.
