Australian Synchrotron

The Australian Synchrotron is a 3GeV synchrotron located in Melbourne, operated by the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO). The facility commenced user operations in 2007 and, with thousands of researcher visits each year from Australia, New Zealand and beyond, the Australian Synchrotron has become one of the most significant pieces of landmark national research infrastructure in the country.

The Australian Synchrotron delivers world-leading highly advanced experimental techniques that accelerate research in critical areas such as health, industrial innovation, advanced manufacturing, agriculture, and communication technology. An active industry engagement program is also opening up new possibilities for industries, from small business to large mineral operations.
