Inauguration of a Cryo-electron microscopy platform at the ESRF, the European Synchrotron, Grenoble, France

Cryo-electron microscopy wins chemistry Nobel. It’s a huge day for cryo-electron miscroscopy with Jacques Dubochet, Joachim Frank and Richard Henderson who were awarded the Nobel prize for their work in developing developing cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM), a technique that opens new perspectives for biochemistry.

The ESRF, the European Synchrotron, Grenoble, France, is very proud to inaugurate soon, on 10 November 2017, a new Cryo-electron microscopy platform.

This Cryo-EM platform will be inaugurated in the presence of the other partners of this facility: the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), the Institut de Biologie Structurale (IBS) and the Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL).
The start of regular user operation is foreseen for November 2017.
