Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB), Wilhelm-Conrad-Röntgen-Campus, BESSY II

BESSY II is part of the new Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin für Materialien und Energie (HZB). With the neutron source BER-II and a synchrotron source BESSY II the HZB provides unique research capabilities with both probes. BESSY II provides of synchrotron radiation of highest quality from the THz to the hard X-ray region. Academic and industrial user from physics, chemistry and biology as well as archeometry and micro fabrication employ one of the numerous experimental stations for their studies. The new HZB strongly supports the complementary usage of neutrons and synchrotron radiation which is reflected in a joint user platform (under preparation).
