Hamburger Synchrotronstrahlungslabor (HASYLAB) - DORIS III,
PETRA II / III

HASYLAB is a part of the national research institution DESY with 2 synchrotron and 1 free-electron laser based lightsources for user operation. Scientists from all over the world come to HASYLAB every year to perform experiments. Synchrotron radiation emitted from positrons in the DORIS and PETRA storage rings is used at about 40 experimental stations, with about 80 instruments, in fundamental and applied research. At HASYLAB researchers from universities, industries, and government laboratories investigate the fields of physics, biology, chemistry and crystallography, materials and geological sciences as well as medical applications.
